About the Role
LCRA is seeking a motivated Substation Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment on crucial infrastructure across Central Texas. This role involves working on complex projects at service centers and substations, contributing to an organization that sets the standard for excellence as a public utility.
Responsibilities
- Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment.
- Install test apparatus on all electrical equipment and implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems.
- Install and maintain lighting and equipment at power plants, communications facilities, substations, pump houses, and dams.
- Read, interpret, and update blueprints and drawings, consult manuals and parts lists to assist in performing work.
- Perform diagnostic testing of line equipment, circuit breakers, and transformers.
Requirements
- One or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
- Class A Texas commercial driver's license.
