About the Role

Support applied research that improves patient outcomes in nursing and midwifery practice across Western Sydney. The Research Officer will contribute to the delivery of research projects that focus on patient care, workforce issues, and clinical practice development. The role provides high-level support across all phases of the research lifecycle, including grant applications, stakeholder engagement, literature reviews, data collection and analysis, and drafting publications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare grant applications.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Contribute to data collection and analysis activities.
  • Assist with drafting publications, reports and presentations.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain strong administrative and financial oversight.
  • Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Support small events and research activities.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline (PhD or progress towards completion preferred).
  • Experience as a research officer in a tertiary or health setting.
  • Strong oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience preparing grant applications, ethics submissions, literature reviews, journal articles, research reports and promotional materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work confidently both independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Highly developed computer literacy, including experience with research and office software, data analysis tools and reference management systems.
  • Experience undertaking qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated administrative and coordination skills, including attention to detail.
  • NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) Required.
  • National Police Check (NPC) Required.
  • Provide evidence of working rights in Australia at time of application.
  • All ongoing and fixed term employees seeking to apply for this position as a secondment must have completed a minimum of 12 months’ full-time continuous service.
