About the Role

Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. This role involves supporting individuals in shared housing, assisting with personal care and daily living activities, and managing complex needs including behaviors of concern, personal care, and manual handling.

Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Provide assistance with daily personal activities
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Requirements

  • Experience working with people with disability
  • Previous experience working behaviours of concern
  • Prior experience working with high medical needs
  • Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
  • Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Must be able to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check
  • Must be able to obtain an NDIS Clearance
