About the Role
Aristocrat is seeking a highly capable Tax Manager APAC to join its Group Tax team. This role offers a broad regional responsibility within a multinational environment, partnering with senior stakeholders and shaping the future of the tax function. It also provides opportunities to drive automation, leverage emerging technologies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns, associated schedules and disclosures across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific region.
- Lead the end-to-end tax effect accounting process for the APAC region, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, legislation, and Group policies.
- Responsible for the annual Australian controlled foreign company (CFC) attribution estimates and calculations.
- Lead and review tax forecasting for the APAC region, and support Group level tax forecasting.
- Partner closely with the Group Transfer Pricing team.
- Lead and support tax audits, reviews, and enquiries, acting as the primary point of contact for Australia and New Zealand.
- Coordinate responses with regional finance teams and external advisers for other jurisdictions.
- Support the implementation of governance standards, internal controls, and other tax risk management framework improvements.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with external advisers, auditors, tax authorities, and internal business partners.
- Involvement with business initiatives, acquisitions, restructures, intercompany funding and other strategic projects requiring tax input across APAC.
- Support indirect tax compliance obligations including GST, FBT, and PAYG Withholding obligations within the region, where required.
Requirements
- At least 8 years experience in corporate tax compliance and reporting gained within a Big 4 or a multinational corporate environment.
- Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities whilst consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior collaborators across finance, legal, and commercial teams.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the job posting location for this position on a full-time basis without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian corporate taxation and tax accounting, with exposure to international tax matters.
- Experience in Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE tax products, or similar technology, will be viewed favourably.
- Previous delivery of operational improvements through automation, data analytics, large language models, or other new technologies/tools will be an advantage.
