About the Role

The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee responsible for the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative consistent with Regal's mission and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach, and supervise non-management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate all projection and audio-visual equipment, including hardware, software, film handling, and maintenance.
  • Possess working knowledge of all booth and projection technology systems, including maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and projection skills.
  • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident handling/reporting/investigation.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit, and reconcile all daily receipts, including various payment methods.
  • Comply with dress code.
  • Have completed or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM.
  • Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, suspend, and terminate employees (with oversight and consultation).
  • Administer all applicable HR paperwork and uphold company policies.
  • Control costs, including direct operating expenses.
  • Purchase and order concession/café stock and other operational supplies.
  • Manage inventory and auditing processes for supplies.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance, including minor repairs and obtaining personnel for larger concerns.
  • Market and promote feature film engagements.
  • Schedule movie show times and ensure timely delivery of show times.
  • Read and understand training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the GM or senior manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (if not currently a high school student).
  • At least three months supervisory experience, or 6 months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof, or demonstrated potential leadership/management skills subject to VP approval.
  • If selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age and complete required state/local training and certification, as well as Regal Responsible Beverage Server training.
  • Possess good public speaking skills.
  • Effectively communicate in both oral and written form with employees, vendors, and corporate staff.
  • Listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, and explain information to others.
  • Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors.
  • Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes.
  • Evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, and recommend solutions.
  • Take initiative beyond what is necessarily called for and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Perform under pressure and/or opposition.
  • Proven experience with PC platforms and knowledge of basic office programs (e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • Operate copiers and other office equipment.
  • Devise and access different filing systems and maintain attention to detail.
  • Use tools and equipment with dexterity, and perform mechanical tasks as necessary.
  • Interface effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers.
  • Exhibit sensitivity to the feelings of others.
  • Establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve objectives.
  • Directly supervise an unspecified number of employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Regal's policies and applicable laws.
