About the Role
The Azure Applications Architect designs and implements functionality to automate processes that simplify tasks. This includes research, design, documenting, and maintaining software specifications. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining interfaces and connectivity between applications, and supporting web and ERP developers in architecting, coding, and testing software solutions on the Azure Platform. Additional support for network and database administration, and end-user support on cloud-based platforms is also required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of external customer business systems ensuring alignment with business/corporate objectives.
- Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to extract business requirements and present functional and technical visions.
- Oversee the technical implementation of IT business initiatives, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Track, monitor, and communicate project status against plans, requirements, quality, and milestones.
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project/solutions lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation and integrated solution blueprints.
- Identify areas for improvement and innovation within existing systems for scalability, responsiveness, utilization, and availability.
- Follow and improve procedures, methodologies, governance, and standards for technical solution design and vendor management.
- Communicate complex topics regarding solutions and projects to diverse audiences.
- Support ERP and web developers with the creation and maintenance of features and functionality on Azure.
- Provide input and direction to the team related to system integration.
- Ensure integration projects meet business and end-user requirements and resolve systems issues.
- Design and communicate guidelines to limit interruption of work due to errors or bugs.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies to support development efforts and recommend cost-effective, flexible, and innovative technologies.
- Collaborate with various departments to establish strategies for consistent information flow between systems.
- Plan software promotions and act as the gatekeeper between development and production systems.
Requirements
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture and cloud-native application designs.
- Lead architecture design, integration, and deployment of Azure applications and services.
- Define and implement cloud architecture standards, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.
- Develop and enforce DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code) for Azure environments.
- Guide cloud migration strategies from on-premises systems to Azure Cloud Solutions.
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot performance, cost, and reliability of Azure solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural governance to development teams.
- Stay current with Azure services, cloud trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- University Degree related to programming, computer science and/or database development/administration.
- 6+ years’ equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft Certified Professional certifications.
- Ability to develop, maintain and deliver solutions for automating tasks to simplify day-to-day operations.
- Ability to process computer data and interpret the results to ensure data accuracy.
- Azure Solution Architect Certification (Preferred).
- Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
