About the Role
The Library Shop at the New York Public Library is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Receiving Associate to accurately and efficiently assist in Receiving. This position is temporary through January 8th, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Checking in deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies
- Pricing merchandise and occasionally packaging it
- Distributing merchandise to shop and storage areas
- Maintaining all stock areas so merchandise is easily found and identifiable
- Learning the Shop’s POS and inventory system and using it for daily tasks with minimum supervision
- Performing related duties as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma minimum
- 1-year Receiving experience
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform detailed and repetitive work accurately and neatly
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated reliability and flexibility
- Demonstrated computer and related technology skills
- Experience working in a retail environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and remain stationary for long periods of time
- Ability to move and transport heavy objects on a daily basis
