About the Role
We are looking for strategists and problem-solvers to join our M&A Consulting Services team in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane. This role focuses on strategy and diligence, providing support for clients through complex deal processes with the aim of increasing growth and value.
Responsibilities
- Drive the thinking of Private Equity clients to uncover the true strategic and operational impact of acquisitions or divestments.
- Bring an analytical point of view, structured problem solving, great consulting skills and disciplined project management capabilities.
- Lead teams and shape insights to deliver strategic advice to clients.
- Develop inorganic strategies and growth options for clients.
- Design and articulate pre-deal strategy, engage in structured problem solving and strategic decision making.
- Conduct due diligence for proposed transactions, including financial analysis, and market and target assessment.
- Perform commercial assessment of deal synergies and standalone costs.
- Engage in practice and business development activities, such as developing thought leadership or sales materials.
- Coach junior staff to operationalize the deal process for clients using knowledge of the M&A lifecycle and project management skills.
Requirements
- Ideally possess a Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification (e.g. CA / CFA / MBA).
- Have 5+ years of advisory/consulting experience, ideally from a Big 4, strategy or boutique consulting firm or the internal strategy function of a large corporate.
- Demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving and structured thinking.
- Be comfortable with an analytical strategy toolkit.
- Have experience with the broader deal-oriented process and environment.
- Possess excellent commercial or financial skills.
- Exhibit articulate communication and confident presentation skills.
- Be ready to address complex problems by leading a team in an organized manner.
- Show a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be willing to deal with ambiguity and change.
