About the Role

Join Henkel and play a pivotal leadership role within the Consumer Brands business as the Category Manager ANZ. In this influential role, you will lead the strategic direction, category growth agenda and customer-facing category vision for the Hair Care portfolio across Australia and New Zealand, a $44.5M business-critical category. You will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that accelerate sustainable growth, strengthen market leadership and deliver exceptional outcomes for customers, retailers and shoppers. As the category expert, you will leverage consumer, shopper, customer and market insights to shape portfolio, innovation, assortment, merchandising and commercial strategies. Working collaboratively across Marketing, Sales and cross-functional teams, you will drive data-led decision-making, identify growth opportunities and deliver category solutions that create competitive advantage and commercial success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction and long-term growth roadmap for the Hair Care category across ANZ, identifying growth opportunities through consumer, shopper and market insights.
  • Develop and execute category strategies that drive sustainable growth, strengthen market leadership and deliver superior customer and shopper outcomes.
  • Act as Henkel's category thought leader with key retail partners, influencing category direction through insight-led recommendations and growth plans.
  • Partner with major retailers to deliver category reviews, customer-specific growth plans and data-driven recommendations across range, space, price and promotion.
  • Build trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders, positioning Henkel as a strategic category partner.
  • Leverage market, shopper and retailer data to generate actionable insights, develop performance scorecards and communicate compelling, insight-led recommendations.
  • Shape innovation, portfolio and assortment strategies by evaluating new product opportunities and driving portfolio optimisation initiatives.
  • Influence cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Commercial Excellence to deliver integrated category solutions.
  • Champion category management best practice, presenting strategic opportunities, risks and recommendations to senior leadership while embedding shopper-centric decision-making.
  • Success will be measured through category growth, market share performance, customer partnership effectiveness and commercial impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience or demonstrated experience leading category strategy and customer-facing category partnerships.
  • Strong experience partnering with major grocery and retail customers across ANZ, supported by expert knowledge of category management, shopper behaviour and retail dynamics.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including business case development, investment evaluation and an understanding of Revenue Growth Management principles.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, think strategically and drive results with resilience, accountability and a growth mindset.
