About the Role

The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK) is seeking a Research and Development professional to join their team. This role focuses on developing digital solutions for resilient and sustainable production within the context of Industry 4.0. Key areas include supporting shop floor employees, optimizing production processes using data and IIoT, and implementing energy-efficient production methods, with a strong emphasis on AI and domain expertise.

Responsibilities

Processing innovative research projects, focusing on integrating AI and networking technologies into digital assistance systems and process optimization.
Handling industrial projects by solving industrial challenges in digitally integrated production through developing and implementing transformation strategies in close collaboration with industry partners.
Identifying industry needs by analyzing industrial problems related to the introduction of AI systems in SMEs and large corporations.
Designing and showcasing future-oriented technologies by further developing and testing production optimization technologies based on industry needs and integrating research results into practical demonstrators.
Acquiring projects.
Publishing and presenting research results through publications and by attending conferences and trade events.
