About the Role

The Account Development Representative is a critical entry point into our commercial organization and a core component of our centralized Revenue Associate Program. This role is designed for high-potential early-career professionals who are motivated to build a successful career in revenue generation. Through a structured onboarding, training, and rotational development program, Associates will gain deep product knowledge, client engagement skills, sales methodology, and commercial acumen preparing them to seamlessly transition into quota-bearing Account Manager roles upon successful completion of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Execute revenue-generating activities including prospecting, qualification, and expansion outreach across existing client accounts.
  • Support Account Managers in renewal preparation, client communication, usage expansion campaigns, and identification of upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand workflows, uncover unmet needs, and position the value of S&P Global solutions aligned to commercial strategy.
  • Manage outbound cadences using Salesloft, Salesforce, and CRM tools to build pipeline and advance opportunities.
  • Conduct account intelligence research to prepare client meetings, evaluate whitespace, and assess risk indicators.
  • Track and report progress on KPIs including meetings booked, opportunities created, usage expansion, client engagement scores, and renewal support.
  • Participate in structured training covering product mastery, commercial negotiation, objection handling, and financial value articulation.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in financial markets, client engagement, and commercial career progression
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive self-starter with resilience, intellectual curiosity, and growth mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools; experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Internship or experience in sales, account management, financial services, or client support
  • Demonstrated success in team-based or target-driven environments
  • Ability to analyze data and articulate insights for commercial actions
  • This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
