The Executive Director, Customer Insights & Analytics (FIG) is a key partner to the Managing Director, with visibility across and accountability for the full Financial Institutions & Government (FIG) portfolio. The role provides strategic guidance and informed perspectives to support business decision-making and portfolio performance. The position is responsible for leading the development of an AI-enabled insights, policy and portfolio management capability that strengthens competitive proposition, enhances risk discipline and supports proactive origination.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted deputy to the Managing Director, FIG, providing oversight across portfolio performance, risk settings and strategic priorities, while delivering independent challenge and guidance on origination, credit and portfolio decisions.
  • Lead the development of an AI-enabled customer insights and analytics capability, leveraging internal and external data to identify origination opportunities, strengthen client strategies and generate differentiated market and portfolio insights.
  • Transform and modernise the FIG credit policy framework by building centralised, technology-enabled platforms that improve policy accessibility, consistency, governance and decision-making across the business.
  • Drive the evolution of risk appetite, portfolio limit frameworks and scenario analysis capabilities, ensuring portfolio settings reflect forward-looking risks, industry dynamics and strategic growth objectives.
  • Establish proactive risk monitoring and signal capabilities through automated data pipelines, intelligent alerts and analytics that enable early identification of emerging risks and commercial opportunities.
  • Simplify and automate core credit and portfolio management processes, reducing manual effort, improving productivity and delivering a more integrated and efficient operating model.
  • Maintain strong portfolio governance and credit discipline, overseeing portfolio quality, risk metrics, reviews, reporting and regulatory engagement to ensure robust risk management outcomes.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of risk, analytics and policy professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement while developing future-ready organisational capability.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in institutional banking, credit risk and portfolio management, with deep expertise across Financial Institutions & Government (FIG) sectors and the ability to make sound commercial and risk-based decisions on complex transactions and portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success operating at a senior leadership level, providing strategic oversight across large, complex portfolios while influencing outcomes across business, risk and product stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, institutional banking products and regulatory frameworks, coupled with the ability to leverage data, analytics and technology to drive decision-making and business performance.
  • Experience leading AI, automation or digital transformation initiatives within risk, credit, analytics or portfolio management environments, using innovation to improve insights, productivity and customer outcomes.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale transformation programs, simplifying operating models and integrating strategy, policy, origination and portfolio management into cohesive and scalable frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations that support strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with confidence influencing senior executives, Board-level stakeholders and regulators, and constructively challenging decisions where required.
  • A strong people leader with experience building, coaching and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and execution excellence.
  • A trusted advisor and strategic thinker who balances long-term vision with disciplined execution, takes ownership of outcomes and thrives in fast-paced, complex environments.
