About the Role

We are seeking a leader with deep expertise in systems engineering and systems assurance to guide teams through complex rail systems projects. This role involves sustaining and strengthening core capabilities in systems engineering, systems assurance, and client consultation across major rail transportation projects in North America, with a focus on the New York/New Jersey market.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support multidisciplinary teams delivering complex rail programs.
• Manage systems integration, applying sound engineering judgment across technical disciplines and stakeholder groups.
• Conduct detailed design and technical reviews of products and system submittments, particularly for Advanced Train Control Systems.
• Guide project teams through critical safety, reliability, availability, and maintainability activities across rail systems.
• Define Systems Assurance objectives for large projects, identify key risks, and develop practical solutions.
• Lead System Safety Assurance activities, including Hazard Identification and Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and Software System Safety Assurance.
• Establish and implement comprehensive assurance programs that support project delivery and client expectations.
• Interpret user and operational requirements and assess their impact on safety and system design.
• Mentor teams, engage with clients, and help deliver impactful rail systems projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in electrical/mechanical engineering or relevant discipline.
• 15+ years of related experience in rail systems, systems engineering, systems assurance, or a closely related field.
• Expert knowledge of Systems Engineering practices.
• Demonstrated experience delivering or supporting Reliability and Safety programs, including work aligned with CENELEC standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel to client offices and project sites as needed.
