About the Role

Neurology Technicians are essential to the daily operations of Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES), supporting practitioners, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maximizing team efficiency. They handle technical and administrative tasks, allowing practitioners to focus on medical priorities and deliver exceptional care.

Responsibilities

  • Restrain pets, prepare/administer medications, and assist in exams, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Monitor anesthesia, provide supportive therapy, and teach clients how to administer treatments.
  • Prepare patients for discharge and communicate status updates to the care team and clients.
  • Record patient histories, treatments, and procedures accurately for invoicing and records.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed progress notes.
  • Schedule procedures, relay accurate information to clients, and seek help when needed.
  • Perform lab procedures and collect/prep samples for analysis.
  • Operate and maintain radiography units and diagnostic software.
  • Maintain and report issues with medical equipment; restock and manage supplies.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain hospital cleanliness, and assist with patient hygiene.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or Experienced Veterinary Technicians with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

  • Adaptability—individuals willing to go the extra mile to ensure the best patient and client experience.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
