About the Role
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients and administers medications and/or treatments under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, physical comfort, medical treatments, nutritional needs, ambulation, exercise, elimination, and patient safety.
- Administers medication as assigned.
- Performs CPR.
- Takes vital signs.
- Transports patients.
- Prepares patients for tests and procedures.
Requirements
- Demonstrates competence and experience in nursing within the limits of preparation and legal scope of practice.
- Able to read, write, see and hear English.
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and walking.
- Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
