About the Role

Manage day-to-day client service and brokerage activities for law firms, collaborating with the Senior Vice-President on complex insurance placements. Ensure client needs are met promptly and accurately, deadlines are satisfied, and quality standards are maintained. Handle projects independently and creatively, grasping niche topics, and acting on behalf of the SVP in their absence. Team collaboration is vital.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day client service and brokerage activities of team working with law firms.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice-President on complex Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Management Liability, and Cyber (Specialty Lines) insurance placements.
  • Ensure all clients’ needs are promptly and accurately satisfied.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met on a timely basis.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Handle projects independently and creatively.
  • Grasp topics involving our specialty law firm niche.
  • Act on behalf of the Senior Vice-President (“SVP”) in their absence.
  • Day to day servicing activities for law firm clients.
  • Maintain responsibility for renewal cycles of law firm clients’ Professional Liability insurance programs.
  • Proactively coordinate renewal cycle to ensure all necessary steps are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare and/or check renewal invitation letters, application reviews, market submissions, terms reports, putting up the firm orders to various insurance companies, ensuring that coverage is bound prior to the effective date, and responding to client requests and inquiries.
  • Review completed applications and underwriting submission materials prepared by Assistant Vice President (“AVP”) and Associate.
  • Formulate strategy and prepare renewal documents including benchmarking information and contribute in renewal strategy discussions with client.
  • Negotiate, prepare and check market quotes, binders and policy documentation.
  • Ensure client, marketing and claims files are maintained in a timely fashion.
  • Review and prepare wording comparisons, consolidated policy wordings, letters and reports under the direction of the SVP.
  • Ensure all communications, both written and verbal, received from clients, insurers and other Aon offices are acknowledged promptly.
  • Coordinate activities with other Aon offices to ensure smooth completion of all client and marketing activity.
  • Responsible for broking to markets on placements, including marketing and development of renewal terms.
  • Responsible for placing complex Specialty Lines Liability insurance towers in collaboration with SVP.
  • Review insurance summaries prepared by team.
  • Review client Insurance requirements, and other client risk and insurance issues and prepare responses.
  • Check all data into the Client Information System (CIS), GRIP, and other various databases/systems.
  • Maintain daily diary and outstanding list on the client renewal accounts.
  • Prepare and develop sales documents, presentations and RFP responses to prospective new clients.
  • Participate in practice building and business development activities as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years Specialty Lines insurance experience.
  • Relevant experience with Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Management Liability, and Cyber Liability insurance experience with sophisticated professional service firms is an asset.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to listen and work successfully in a team.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with significant attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, monitor and control workflow deadlines and be flexible.
  • Technical/detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in PC office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook is required.
  • Your employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining the P&C license in the required states, as designated by Aon.
  • You must successfully complete the required course work and pass the examinations within 120 days of your start date.
  • You will be expected to pass the examination in no more than three attempts.
  • In addition, you will complete all required paperwork necessary in obtaining the license.

Salary/Compensations

  • $135,000 to $155,000 annually
  • Eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus
