About the Role
The Senior Preconstruction Engineer supports Preconstruction leaders in developing quantity take-off, cost estimates, lump sum bidding, and other preconstruction services to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. This role works under direct supervision, performing daily estimating and planning activities and disseminating relevant information. The position will focus on Healthcare, Higher Ed, Aviation, Adaptive Reuse, and seismic retrofit projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop quantity take-off, cost estimates, and lump sum bids.
- Provide preconstruction services accurately, timely, and cost-effectively.
- Perform daily estimating and planning activities.
- Disseminate information applicable to planning efforts.
- Meet critical deadlines.
- Accurately obtain quantities for building components.
- Proactively communicate and build relationships with subcontractors.
- Work as part of a team.
Requirements
- 3+ years full-time relevant industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a precon or estimating position with a general contractor or trade partner.
- 1+ year demonstrated experience with commercial construction estimating and estimating software applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent/applicable degree or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years prior relevant experience.
- Currently, the company is not considering applicants for this position who now or in the future require employment sponsorship by the company.
