Responsibilities
- Maintain and coordinate accessioning, handling, and grossing preparation of surgical specimens and laboratory inquiries regarding specimen collection and processing for the hospital.
- Maintain and coordinate all laboratory inquiries and procedures regarding referred testing specimen collection and processing for the hospital.
- Act as a resource for hospital personnel regarding specimen procurement, testing, and results.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Six months of experience in all phases of Phlebotomy in a hospital environment.
- Experience in protocols involved in accessioning, handling, and preparation, including thin prep processing of cytology specimens is desired.
