About the Role

The front desk staff provides a range of services and supervision to residents, aiming to enable them to live safely and independently. The role also focuses on maintaining an environment of respect and compassion that enhances the dignity of residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor resident well-being and building access.
  • Respond to emergency calls and implement emergency procedures.
  • Assist residents in obtaining needed services.
  • Record and refer requests for building repairs or services.
  • Monitor all persons entering or leaving the building, including guest sign-in/out.
  • Exercise authority to refuse entry based on building guidelines.
  • Monitor alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Notify super and/or manager of emergency situations.
  • Communicate emergency information clearly to authorities, tenants, and staff.
  • Perform building safety rounds.
  • Answer the facility telephone courteously and professionally.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities, occurrences, and observations.
  • Write clear and accurate reports of incidents and actions taken.
  • Ensure the front sidewalk is free of ice, snow, obstructions, and garbage.
  • Work as a team member to maintain a high level of care and respect for residents.
  • Share resident information with staff in accordance with confidentiality policy.
  • Attend required training sessions and conferences.
  • Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Submit all required reports completely and on time.
  • Work cooperatively and collegially with other staff members.
  • Assist with other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Able to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Able to perform job responsibilities.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Experience working with dependent persons.
