About the Role
The Licensed Professional (Other Licensed Practitioner – OLP) is a field-based clinician who provides comprehensive behavioral health services directly within the communities where children and families live, attend school, and engage in daily life. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to independently manage a community-based caseload while collaborating closely with caregivers, schools, medical providers, and multidisciplinary team members. The overall goal is to improve emotional and behavioral functioning, strengthen family relationships, promote stability across home, school, and community settings, and reduce the need for higher levels of behavioral health intervention.
Responsibilities
- Provide field-based behavioral health services in homes, schools, and community settings.
- Travel throughout the assigned service area to meet families in the community and deliver clinically appropriate interventions in natural environments.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify behavioral health needs, establish diagnoses, and determine medical necessity for services.
- Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary providers.
- Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
- Deliver crisis intervention, safety planning, and stabilization services during psychiatric, behavioral, or situational crises.
- Collaborate with caregivers, schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies to coordinate services and support treatment goals.
- Connect families to medically necessary behavioral health, educational, and community resources based on identified needs.
- Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and required reports.
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision, team meetings, and required trainings while maintaining regulatory and agency compliance.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work Required
- NYS Licensed LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, MHC-LP
- Flexibility to conduct home visits throughout Brooklyn and Queens
- Coney Island-based preferred
