About the Role

Join Mondelēz International and lead the future of snacking. This role drives a culture of zero incidents and an optimum environmental footprint by ensuring well-maintained facilities, implemented regulations, hazard assessments, and reduction of accidents, energy, and waste.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help the plant achieve Zero accidents and Incidents.
  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes.
  • Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances.
  • Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities.
  • Follow up on non-conformances and develop systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis.
  • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents, and drive the completion of corrective actions.
  • Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership from a HSE perspective to support business performance.
  • Develop and deploy strategies to reduce HSE risks at the facility.
  • Manage and mentor the site HSE team.
  • Promote and foster a culture of safety, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability across the plant.
  • Drive innovations and excellence by creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize the Bradley Curve to benchmark and measure safety performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide training and support to employees on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
  • Act as company representative in dealing with regulatory agencies on HSE matters.

Requirements

  • Experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA, EPA, DNREC.
  • Experience in safety, and/or environmental technical standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels.
  • Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO.
  • Background in manufacturing at least 4 - 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in people management (direct reports or cross functionally).
  • Experience with Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Ability to lead and participate in teams to establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively reach a broad audience.
  • Problem-solving mindset and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proactive approach to safety and health management.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), or equivalent are desirable however NOT mandatory.

Salary/Compensations

  • $93,300 to $116,650 CAD
  • Eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 10% with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
