About the Role

Union College is seeking an Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach / Hockey Operations Coordinator to assist the Head Coach in all phases of the program, including coaching, recruiting, student-athlete development, and operational tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in all phases of the women's ice hockey program.
  • Coach practices and games.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Develop student-athletes.
  • Ensure academic success of student-athletes.
  • Plan practices and games, manage rules and compliance.
  • Manage video preparation for games and practices.
  • Manage team travel and meals.
  • Create team social media marketing plan.
  • Assist administrative assistant with office tasks and Friends Group projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between Hockey staff and campus offices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Management, Physical Education or related degree and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Evidence of at least two years successful ice hockey coaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit quality student-athletes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Sport Logiq (for pre- and post-game scouting).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
  • Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Philosophy compatible with a liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards.
  • Ability to work successfully with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Finalists for hire will undergo a background check that includes education, employment, and criminal convictions.
