About the Role

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will report observations, respond professionally to concerns, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to transit riders, employees, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned transit facilities, platforms, entrances, perimeter areas, and other designated locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity within assigned areas, reporting suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy violations according to established procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting appropriate assistance when needed.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, transit personnel, and emergency responders regarding incidents and daily activities.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
