About the Role
As a Security Guard Part Time Unarmed Patrol Site Surveys in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a housing shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and community partners by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, and policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter location, including interior common areas, exterior grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help identify and report security-related concerns.
- Prepare clear, accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
