About the Role

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position offers the chance to work closely with experienced pathologists and lead in the preparation and examination of surgical specimens.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precise gross examinations and dissections of surgical specimens.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the gross room, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Follow NYSDOH, CAP, and CDC standards for care and compliance.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other clinical professionals for timely and accurate specimen analyses.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage tools, and aid technical staff to ensure lab supply needs are met.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a related science with at least three years of supervised on-the-job training OR A degree from an NCCLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant training program.
  • NYS License as a Pathologists’ Assistant.
