About the Role

Ares is seeking a Senior Associate Event Manager to join the Ares Events Team within the Global Client Solutions Group. This role involves leading the planning and execution of mid-size events from conception to reconciliation, managing complex conferences, and contributing to the creation of new processes for global operations. The position is based in New York, Los Angeles, or Mumbai and requires managing events of various sizes, both virtually and in-person globally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution on mid-size events from initial conception to reconciliation, including pre-event organization, budget management, production management, onsite execution, staff management, senior management liaison, and final cost analysis.
  • Partner with the event lead to own specific pieces of large flagship events.
  • Deliver flawless events, including pre-con meetings, overall management of the event, and working directly with the GCS team, Investment Leadership, Product Management, and other stakeholders.
  • Understand, analyze, and articulate key themes, issues, and risks to GCS Leadership and stakeholders.
  • Consider consequences, think before acting, demonstrate strong awareness, make sound decisions, and serve as a trusted partner.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Partner with the Global Conferences & Events team to research and plan event schedules, supporting the design, planning, implementation, marketing, and coordination of events, conferences, roadshows, and logistics.
  • Organize and prepare for investor meetings, including creating agendas, scheduling tours, and ensuring timely preparation of materials.
  • Ensure an engaging client experience and achievement of program objectives by meeting deadlines and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Manage event RSVP tracking in Cvent & Salesforce, report on registration statistics to Relationship Managers & Investor Relations teams.
  • Take on ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in financial services events.
  • Approximately 30% of global travel will be required.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands; result oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and team orientation; capability of interacting with key stakeholders to direct prioritization of related activity.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • High accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Good judgment in terms of escalating issues vs. solving problems independently.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and general Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficiency in Cvent, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Salary/Compensations

  • $135,000 - $165,000 / annum
