About the Role
CACI is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Engineer to serve as CACI's senior environmental compliance subject-matter expert. This role is responsible for ensuring that infrastructure development, expeditionary basing, logistics operations, and facility sustainment activities comply with applicable environmental requirements throughout the Indo-Pacific theater. The engineer will provide technical guidance supporting environmental planning, permitting, compliance assessments, hazardous material management, pollution prevention, waste management, environmental risk mitigation, and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior environmental compliance advisor supporting facility and logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, DoD, Combatant Command, environmental, and host nation regulations.
- Interpret environmental policies and provide technical guidance supporting operational decision-making.
- Monitor environmental compliance across multiple operational sites throughout the Indo-Pacific.
- Recommend corrective actions to resolve environmental compliance deficiencies.
- Conduct environmental assessments supporting infrastructure planning, facility development, and operational site surveys.
- Evaluate environmental impacts associated with construction, modernization, logistics operations, and expeditionary basing.
- Support environmental baseline studies, environmental condition assessments, and site evaluations.
- Identify environmental risks associated with operational facilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support environmental documentation required for Government decision-making.
- Provide technical oversight supporting hazardous materials handling, storage, transportation, and disposal.
- Develop recommendations supporting hazardous waste management and pollution prevention programs.
- Monitor compliance with hazardous material regulations and applicable environmental standards.
- Support spill prevention, response planning, and environmental incident reporting.
- Coordinate environmental compliance activities supporting logistics and maintenance operations.
- Support facility planning, infrastructure modernization, utilities projects, and construction activities from an environmental compliance perspective.
- Review engineering plans and construction activities to ensure environmental requirements are incorporated.
- Evaluate infrastructure resilience initiatives for environmental impacts and regulatory compliance.
- Support environmental permitting activities associated with facility development and sustainment.
- Coordinate environmental considerations during contingency basing and expeditionary facility operations.
- Support logistics operations, warehousing, transportation, fuel operations, and distribution activities requiring environmental oversight.
- Participate in operational planning supporting exercises, contingency operations, and humanitarian assistance missions.
- Coordinate environmental support activities with Government agencies, host nation organizations, and regulatory authorities.
- Assist operational teams in resolving environmental issues affecting mission execution.
- Provide environmental technical support during facility activation, expansion, and transition activities.
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections and operational audits.
- Monitor environmental performance metrics and identify trends requiring corrective action.
- Support internal and external environmental compliance reviews.
- Develop environmental risk assessments supporting operational planning.
- Prepare compliance reports, findings, and executive summaries for Government leadership.
- Develop environmental compliance procedures, guidance documents, and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, environmental analyses, and regulatory documentation.
- Provide environmental compliance training and awareness briefings to program personnel.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives promoting environmental stewardship and operational sustainability.
- Maintain environmental records supporting contractual and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of environmental engineering, environmental compliance, or environmental management experience supporting Government, military, industrial, or infrastructure programs.
- Minimum 5 years supporting DoD, Federal, or Government environmental compliance programs.
- Experience supporting infrastructure development, construction, facilities management, logistics operations, or engineering projects.
- Experience conducting environmental assessments, inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials management, waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental permitting.
- Experience interpreting Federal environmental regulations and host nation environmental requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports and brief Government leadership.
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed operations preferred
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or equivalent environmental certification.
- Experience supporting SOCPAC, USSOCOM, INDOPACOM, USARPAC, PACAF, PACFLEET, MARFORPAC, USACE, NAVFAC, or other DoD organizations.
- Experience supporting expeditionary basing, overseas infrastructure projects, contingency operations, or operational site surveys.
- Familiarity with NEPA, Executive Orders, DoD environmental policies, overseas environmental guidance, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and applicable host nation regulations.
- Experience utilizing GIS, AutoCAD, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, environmental information systems, or similar engineering tools.
