About the Role

Leads a team responsible for data modeling, development, and integration, as well as projects to optimize data infrastructure. Collaborates with IT and partners in different geographies and functions to advance initiatives and drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Owns, executes, and updates data models, infrastructure, and ETLs, ensuring standardization and scalability.
  • Leads a team of data engineers, providing technical leadership, solution modeling, design, and coaching.
  • Partners with data and business teams to understand and integrate data, building powerful data models and automated processes.
  • Leads the building of automated data management and data quality capabilities, reusing components to scale development across countries.
  • Collaborates with other data and technical teams to streamline high-value data to the Polaris platform.
  • Defines and executes strategies to design and create the architecture of data models, data structures, schemas, and data views critical for reports, business intelligence, and analytics capabilities.
  • Incorporates the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in all day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment where the team pursues effective and efficient operations, ensuring adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Statistics, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of related work experience in data management, analysis, and automation of processes.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL (2008/2012/2014/2016/2017) including SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, indexes, and views.
  • Strong knowledge of Databricks, SQL, SAS, and Power BI.
  • Experience working with at least one major database platform (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Sybase, or Postgres).
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Ability to use intuition and experience to articulate business needs.
  • Strong leadership competencies in communication and cross-cultural leadership.
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s Retail & Small Business collections policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge in Windows-based operating systems.
  • A team player, self-motivated, solution-driven, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
