About the Role
The Shift Building Operator is an integral part of the Plant Operations and Maintenance department, maintaining responsibility for inspecting the facility/mechanical room and ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Performing preventative maintenance to ensure the continuous operation of equipment/machinery
- Diagnosing problems with equipment/machinery
- Providing feedback to ensure new construction and/or modification will not impact existing systems
- Repairing equipment/machinery
- Contributing to the efficient operation of the department
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years practical and related experience
- Computer literate to operate automated systems
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Previous related experience in a health care setting, an asset
- Current UHN employees must have successfully completed their probationary period, have a good employee record along with satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN's attendance management program, to be eligible for consideration.
- A Criminal Record Check may be required of the successful candidate.

Salary/Compensations
- CAD 35.07 - CAD 37.55 - hourly
