About the Role

Originate and execute a broad array of transactions in the UK Infrastructure sector, leading small deal teams to completion. Negotiate transactions with sponsors, external advisors, and funding partners, and present credit proposals to committees.

Responsibilities

  • Originate new business through relationships with counterparties in line with the AGUK Business origination strategy.
  • Maintain and seek out new relationships with project sponsors, bankers, advisers, and investors.
  • Monitor the market and proactively identify new opportunities through conferences, networking events, and client relationships.
  • Make decisions on pursuing new transactions based on the Risk Appetite Statement and Pricing models.
  • Oversee transaction progression internally, including memos and presentations to the Credit Committee.
  • Negotiate transactions externally with counterparties.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Credit, Legal, and Regulatory teams.
  • Ensure smooth handover of transactions to the Surveillance team.
  • Manage junior team members' day-to-day activities and development plans.

Requirements

  • Strong work experience with a track record of closing deals in the UK project finance market across various sectors.
  • Strong client relationships across the UK market, including sponsors, financial advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent credit skills, strong technical and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of debt structuring.
  • First-rate communication, negotiation, and influencing skills for internal and external audiences.
  • Strong experience in preparing and presenting credit papers to underwriting and credit committees.
