About the Role
DLPR is seeking a Junior Account Executive to join their financial services team. This role involves developing and executing media relations strategies for clients in the financial and professional services sectors, aiming to secure coverage across various media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and run media relations work for financial and professional services clients.
- Secure coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and podcasts.
- Pitch story ideas to top-tier and trade media, and follow up to land coverage.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media contacts.
- Draft materials such as press releases, media pitches, Q&As, op-eds, and talking points.
- Prepare clients for interviews by developing briefing documents and refining key messages.
- Monitor financial and industry news for timely opportunities.
- Track coverage performance and use insights to inform future pitching strategies.
- Support account teams with daily tasks and idea generation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on thought leadership and integrated campaigns.
Requirements
- Solid grounding in finance and capital markets.
- Ability to understand client businesses and shape their communications.
- Capacity to analyze market trends, client data, and media results.
- Clear writing and confident presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex financial subjects for a general audience.
- Real media relations experience, ideally in financial PR or business journalism.
- Experience building reporter relationships and landing earned placements.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Maintain a professional, client-first approach in a hybrid team environment.
