About the Role
Incumbent decontaminates, operationally inspects, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment. Maintains documentation related to these duties and assists in training other Sterile Processing Technicians. Pulls needed supplies and instruments for next day cases or emergent cases by utilizing OR preference cards picklists. Performs all tasks necessary to prepare and maintain accurate surgical Case Carts. Operates and maintains sterilization equipment, decontamination equipment, and computer systems. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminates surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment.

- Assembles surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment.
- Sterilizes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment.
- Distributes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains documentation related to decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution duties.
- Assists in the training of other Sterile Processing Technicians.
- Pulls needed supplies and instruments for next day cases or emergent cases (E-Cases) by utilizing OR preference cards picklists.
- Performs all tasks necessary to prepare and maintain accurate surgical Case Carts.
