About the Role

The incumbent assists in carrying out the responsibilities for the overall workflow of the shift. This role decontaminates, operationally checks, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment. The position also involves maintaining documentation, assisting in training, troubleshooting equipment and customer issues, operating and maintaining sterilization and decontamination equipment, and participating in performance improvement planning and implementation. Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.

Responsibilities

Assists in carrying out the responsibilities for the overall workflow of the shift.
Decontaminates, operationally checks, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment.
Maintains documentation related to these duties.
Assists in the training of other Sterile Processing Technicians.
Troubleshoots equipment, instruments and customer issues.
Operates and maintains sterilization equipment, decontamination equipment and computer systems related to these duties.
Participates in performance improvement planning and implementation.
