About the Role
Provide technical support for the Pathologists’ clinical and research activities, including the gross description and dissection of surgical tissue under the mentorship and supervision of outstanding Pathologists.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assistance regarding the gross description and dissection of surgical tissue.
- Perform a wide variety of Histology processes including tissue grossing.
- Perform tumor procurement.
- Perform case set-up.
- Perform gross imaging of patient specimens.
- Perform frozen section tissue selection.
- Mentor and educate others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science from Pathologist Assistant Program (Master’s preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in specimen grossing.
- Excellent communication skills - including verbal, written and computer.
- ASCP Certification strongly preferred.
- New York State Pathologists Assistant License required (or obtained with 6 month of hire).
- New graduates from an accredited PA master’s program are welcome to apply.

- 5 days/8hr shift (11am-7pm) with rotational Saturday coverage

Salary/Compensations
- $10,000 sign-on bonus | new employees eligible only
- Pay Range: $125,400.00 - $200,700.00
