About the Role
Performs Treadmill and Nuclear Stress Testing. Conducts initial patient interview and makes preliminary assessment of test data. Prepares study for physician interpretation. Works closely with physicians and Cardiac Rehab/Cardiology Supervisor to assure accurate and timely test results. The Cardiology RN shall have the ability to provide care to adult and geriatric patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of approved school of registered professional nursing.
- NYS RN license
- BLS and ACLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
- CPR certification.
- Two years of patient care experience.
- Recent experience in arrhythmia recognition and cardiology.
- ICU or Cardiology nursing experience, and/or experience with stress testing.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy
- Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire into this position.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, electronic medical record and/or Meditech.
