About the Role
Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is seeking a reliable and motivated Food Service Worker to join our school cafeteria team. This role includes food preparation, service, and operating a point-of-sale system to provide nutritious meals in a clean, friendly, and efficient environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and portioning in accordance with standardized recipes and menu guidelines.
- Serve meals to students and staff courteously and efficiently.
- Set up and restock serving lines, salad bars, and condiment stations.
- Operate a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and handle transactions responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, utensils, equipment, and work areas.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local food safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supply inventory.
- Maintain accurate production and temperature logs.
- Follow all cleaning and sanitation schedules.
- Support special dietary needs and allergy accommodations under supervision.
- Work effectively with team members and communicate professionally with students and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
- Prior food service or cashiering experience in a school or similar setting preferred.
- Ability to operate a cash register and handle money accurately.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced school environment.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must pass all NYS background checks.
