About the Role
The Director of Finance will assist in planning, organizing, and directing the financial operations, information systems, compliance program, and fiscal management of assigned divisions. This role is highly visible and advises the CFO on financial management and compliance activities to help the Agency achieve its goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing financial goals and objectives for the organization and its programs.
- Manage, plan, and organize financial operations including financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, accounting controls, risk management, treasury, compliance, resource allocation, and revenue cycle functions.
- Serve as the finance lead for the Seniors At Home (SAH) and Rhoda Goldman Plaza (RGP) divisions, providing guidance on budgeting, planning, business operations, and financial matters.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement financial plans, benchmarks, and budgetary performance metrics.
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing an agency-wide Compliance Program.
- Formulate and direct internal compliance audit and monitoring activities, identifying and resolving non-compliance issues.
- Communicate compliance updates to Executive Leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
- Assist in developing, interpreting, and communicating organizational policies on finance, accounting, budgeting, insurance, internal controls, compliance, and auditing.
- Establish clear performance goals, drive accountability, and invest in staff development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant financial and business operations experience, with at least 5 years in a non-profit organization.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in compliance activities within a multidisciplinary agency, preferably in implementing non-profit compliance programs.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in budgeting, planning, and financial analysis within a $25+ million multi-departmental entity.
- 5+ years of leadership experience, including supervision of multiple employees.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, particularly as it applies to non-profit organizations.
- Experience in conducting or responding to government or third-party audits and investigations.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Familiarity with general ledger (Intacct) and budgeting (Adaptive) software applications.
- Ability to travel to all regions served by JFCS as needed.
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance if driving own vehicle.

Salary/Compensations
- $200,000 - $225,000
