About the Role
The incumbent will report to the President & Chief Executive Officer and will be a member of the executive management team. The incumbent has overall responsibility for all program staff and their supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coordinate the work of multiple program areas on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensure successful cross-coordination between program areas and with other departments.
- Build strategic partnerships and develop special projects and initiatives with external partners.
- Build and maintain partnerships and relationships with other nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Develop and implement procedures for monitoring the quality and quantity of services delivered.
- Monitor the scope of service requirements of multiple contracts and ensure compliance.
- Assist in grant/contract identification and grant writing.
- Prepare grant reports for review by CEO, Finance, and funders.
- Attract, retain, train, supervise, coach, and develop staff.
- Develop and monitor the program budget.
- Monitor budget and program expenditures.
- Meet regularly with Finance and direct reports to review contract expenditures.
- Provide information to the finance department for timely billing of contracts/grants.
- In concert with the board, CEO, and other stakeholders, develop, implement, and execute the strategic plan.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Health, Social Work, Human Services Management, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years progressive management experience in a non-profit service environment.
- Prior experience managing large teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social services programs and the business acumen to effectively manage across diverse programs.
- Analytical, with demonstrated experience in program evaluation and application of outcome measurements, and best practices.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with experience building programs and collaborations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with donors, board members, staff, and funders.
- Demonstrated integrity and accountability.
- Player/coach, effective at delegation, with the ability to motivate and build relationships and partnerships at all levels.
- Experience with government contracts, contract management, and compliance.
- Must be a proven strategic thinker, problem solver, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
