About the Role

As a Security Officer Part Time Residential Shelter in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide respectful customer service to residents, visitors, and staff. You will support a welcoming environment through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, residential areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate security-related logs and incident reports.
Support a respectful, professional environment by communicating clearly with individuals from diverse backgrounds and reporting maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate site personnel.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
