About the Role
As a Security Officer Transitional Shelter in South Ozone Park, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transitional Shelters. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help identify unusual activity and support a welcoming environment.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; maintain awareness of individuals entering and leaving the location.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
