About the Role
As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to routine concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a residential shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, perimeter areas, and parking locations when applicable.
- Monitor access points, observe and report unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and prohibited behavior in accordance with site policies.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation; communicate relevant information to site personnel and incoming Allied Universal personnel.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
