About the Role

This role is responsible for overseeing the global markets onboarding team supporting institutional and hedge fund clients across Fixed Income, Equities, Currencies, and Commodities. The successful candidate will act as a client advocate, collaborating with various internal teams to manage the end-to-end onboarding experience, drive operational efficiency, and enhance client satisfaction. This position requires a blend of relationship management, regulatory awareness, technology adoption, and data-driven decision-making to ensure a best-in-class client experience, alongside managing capacity, technology roadmaps, and key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more major operations segments for a site, region, or product line.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems related to product lines.
  • Ensure compliance with policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process performance and operating efficiency.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities of employees, including executing transactions.
  • Oversee the global markets onboarding team supporting institutional and hedge fund clients.
  • Serve as a client advocate, working closely with sales, product, credit, legal, AML, compliance, client service, and other operations teams.
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding experience, drive operational efficiency, and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Balance relationship management, regulatory awareness, technology adoption, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage capacity, oversee technology and funded initiative roadmaps, and navigate KPIs.
  • Manage people and clients.
  • Oversee pipeline health and throughput.
  • Oversee capacity management.
  • Engage with FLU, GMO leadership, GM Tech, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and clients to ensure documentation execution, satisfactory AML/KYC, and completion of operational setups.
  • Navigate post-go-live issues with accountability and urgency.
  • Forecast and manage staffing levels and capacities.
  • Prioritize employee development through coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Apply knowledge of end-to-end processes and ensure adherence to bank and regulatory policy.
  • Develop and analyze procedures to enhance unit and/or product-related activities.
  • Oversee budget and expense management, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Evaluate efficiencies and identify areas of improvement and growth.
  • Identify data, metrics, and key performance indicators to measure process effectiveness.
  • Align bank priorities and strategies to employee metrics and goals.
  • Evaluate employee progress and strive to recognize, encourage, and improve team performance.
  • Model an inclusive environment for employees and clients.
  • Demonstrate deep process knowledge, operational excellence, and innovation.
  • Communicate enterprise decisions, purpose, and results.
  • Ensure proper risk discipline, controls, and culture are in place.
  • Provide inspection, coaching, and feedback to motivate, differentiate, and improve performance.
  • Actively manage expenses and budgets.
  • Assess talent and build bench strength for roles across the organization.
  • Deliver results by effectively prioritizing, inspecting, and delegating team work.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of management experience in financial services.
  • 5+ years of onboarding experience (asset managers, hedge funds, or other client types).
  • Strong understanding of institutional client needs, market structure, and regulatory considerations within Global Markets.
  • Working knowledge of AML / KYC and Regulatory requirements impacting client onboarding for derivatives and securities (e.g. Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, EMIR etc.).
  • Commercially minded with strong problem solving, relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to present to an audience.
  • Ability to collaborate across sales, product, client service and other internal teams to drive results.
