About the Role

This role supports our mission by providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
Responsibilities
- Observe, collect, and document patient health status data.
- Complete measurements including temperatures, pulses, blood pressures, respirations, weights, and intake/output.
- Report significant changes in patient health status to the RN immediately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Document patient care according to guidelines.
- Perform personal care and interventions as assigned.
- Assist patients, family members, and visitors with wayfinding.
- Assist with patient transfers, movement, and rooming.
- Complete interventions according to procedure critical elements.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights.
- Assist patients with grooming, hygiene, and maintaining skin integrity.
- Complete admission, discharge, and transfer functions.
- Distribute and set up water, snacks, and patient trays.
- Provide assistance with ambulation, transfer, positioning, and range of motion (ROM).
- Perform clerical duties and assist with patient registration.
- Process physician orders accurately and timely.
- Document relevant patient information for accurate billing.
- Transport medication from the tube system.
- Clarify, communicate, prioritize, and transcribe written orders.
- Order, validate, and store supplies and patient education materials.
- Print Release of Information (ROI) packets for discharge.
- Review and explain authorization forms with patients.
- Schedule procedures and appointments.
- Contribute to a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
- Protect patients, self, and others during transfers and lifts using proper equipment and body mechanics.
- Report environmental risks or equipment malfunctions.
- Use equipment according to policies and manufacturer directions.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Handle hazardous waste according to procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age OR 17 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have completed one semester of clinical rotations with an accredited nursing program OR successfully completed a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program OR completed the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR possess NREMT certification upon hire OR have previous direct patient care experience.

Experience Level
- Previous direct patient care experience may be considered
Education Level
- High school diploma or GED (if 17 years of age)
- Completion of one semester of clinical rotations with an accredited nursing program
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program completion
- Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program completion
- NREMT certification
Salary/Compensations
- Pay Range: $21.76 to $28.57 per hour
