About the Role
This role will develop new sales opportunities and business development with strategic and high priority new customers, involved in the interest, qualify and sales steps in the customer journey, and offering holistic solutions to answer customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Generate market interest and represent CDP at regional events.
- Promote holistic CDP solutions including corporate disclosure, reporting services, and supply chain engagement.
- Implement and execute sales strategies to achieve business development goals.
- Develop sales plans, set targets, and monitor performance.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline with existing and potential clients.
- Qualify inbound leads and manage them through the full sales cycle for corporates in Japan.
- Prepare and present compelling business proposals and presentations.
- Develop customized solutions that align with client needs and CDP’s value proposition.
- Engage in pricing and contract negotiations.
- Understand core use cases of CDP data & support.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and client feedback.
- Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting.
- Ensure Dynamics 365 (D365) is kept up to date with accurate and timely input.
- Track and report on business development activities, including sales performance, pipeline status, and key metrics.
- Provide regular updates to senior management.
- Represent CDP at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Promote CDP’s services and build relationships with potential customers.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve business development processes and strategies.
- Ensure you know what is expected of you through regular 1:1’s and clear objectives.
- Participate in open and honest performance and development conversations.
- Ensure a respectful and inclusive workplace where team members communicate openly, share knowledge, and respect difference.

Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the sustainability sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in selling ideally to financial or non-financial corporates.
- Understanding of customers' internal teams responsible for purchase decisions.
- Fluent in Japanese.
- Proficient in English.
