Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in all phases of unit activities related to the management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery.
- Assign duties appropriately to associates.
- Serve as a role model for professional nursing and ancillary staff, sharing responsibility for patient outcomes.
- Coordinate resources to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations.
- Provide leadership and support to nursing staff by fostering collegial interdisciplinary and physician relationships.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor.
- Coordinate unit activity and patient throughput.
- Provide feedback in the evaluation of staff performance.
- Facilitate unit activity to ensure excellence in clinical outcomes and quality measures.
- Actively support the philosophy, vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the Department of Nursing and the Health System.
- Manage human resources by fostering interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships within the department and institution.
Requirements
- NYS license as a registered nurse
- Current BLS CPR
