About the Role

At Soho House, a Server is responsible for educating members and guests on menu items and allergies, while providing an approachable and elevated experience by following service standards. The Server plays a crucial role in ensuring service success and guest satisfaction, collaborating with team members, completing duties, and accurately entering orders. A successful Server maintains a positive attitude, is detail-oriented, process-driven, and flexible, ensuring seamless communication between Front of House and Back of House staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and management.
  • Complete checklists and duties.
  • Elevate the dining experience by discussing food and drink pairings and specials to drive sales.
  • Maintain communication with Management and Executive Chef regarding allergies or potential risks.
  • Complete and submit checkout reports at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and all Company policies and procedures.
  • Accommodate special requests from guests or provide alternative solutions.
  • Ensure food orders are plated and coursed correctly before serving.
  • Assist runners and bussers with expo and service bar tickets.
  • Clean and stock server alley and bar area, polish silverware, plates, and glassware.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the menu and make suggestions when asked.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm.
  • Ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service, and respectful towards colleagues and guests.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and autonomously.
  • Tips certified and POS knowledge.
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to make periodical fast-paced movements.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
