About the Role

The Digital Navigator supports the day-to-day operations of the computer lab and provides direct, hands-on digital literacy assistance to community members. This role involves leading learning sessions, assisting with classes, and handling technical maintenance needs for the lab.

Responsibilities

  • Assist users with basic computer tasks including internet browsing, email, printing, and video conferencing.
  • Assist users with job applications, resume formatting, and online forms.
  • Assist users with Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Provide appropriate resident services resources.
  • Support and lead Digital Equity Program classes or tutoring sessions.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Maintain the Learning Center Lab appearance, ensuring spaces are clean, organized, and clutter-free.
  • Perform routine cleaning of computer and printer areas.
  • Ensure all computers, peripherals, and software are in working condition.
  • Submit computer lab-related work orders.
  • Monitor users to ensure compliance with lab policies.
  • Monitor doors and maintain contact logs according to health and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate schedules for lab usage to prevent overcrowding.
  • Keep inventory of tech, ink, and copy paper.
  • Inform management when supplies are running low.
  • Maintain and organize inventory of all computer lab supplies.
  • Assist with special projects or workshops for Adult Ed programs.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, internet browsers, and office software
  • Must be comfortable with computer equipment, software, and provide basic technical support, including troubleshooting common hardware and software issues.
  • Must enjoy working with adults and children
  • Flexibility to meet the changing work needs and demands
  • Ability to organize activities
  • Available during Lab Hours with some variations to assist site coverage.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to other FC sites as necessary.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (Fingerprint check required at some sites)
