About the Role

Prospect Schools is seeking a 4th Grade Math Teacher Leave Replacement for the beginning of the school year (September 2026) through November 2026. As an educator at Prospect, you will implement an equity-driven approach following the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, emphasizing academic rigor, critical thinking, global mindedness, and inclusive classroom practices. You will be part of a collaborative and high-performing instructional team, reporting directly to a member of the school leadership team.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver culturally responsive, engaging lessons that support learning in an intentionally diverse classroom and actively engage a variety of different learning styles
Utilize data, strong content knowledge, and effective pedagogy to plan clear, objective-driven instruction to advance learning for all students
Collaborate with co-teachers and instructional leaders through coaching, professional development, and, when applicable, advisory groups to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth
Set clear expectations and consistent routines to create a purposeful, warm, and supportive learning environment
Build a culturally sustaining classroom community where all students feel known, safe, valued, and respected by adults and peers
Embody a “Team First” mindset by collaborating across grade level and content teams, participating in professional development, and partnering with the broader school community
Demonstrate a commitment to giving and receiving feedback for the purpose of continuous personal growth and betterment of the teaching and learning team
Build strong partnerships with caregivers through consistent communication and regular updates on student progress
Use caregiver feedback to continuously improve instruction and the overall learning experience
Coordinate and facilitate family meetings as needed and attend any/all school wide caregiver events

Requirements

Earned a Bachelors Degree
Prior teaching experience
In the process of earning or have earned a New York Teaching License Certification
