About the Role

Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center (OPVMC) is seeking a dedicated Emergency Veterinarian to join our collaborative, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. You will manage a wide variety of urgent and complex cases in a fast-paced, fully equipped facility, delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency and critical care to small animal patients.
• Triage, diagnose, and manage high-acuity cases.
• Develop and implement timely treatment plans.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
• Make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Work closely with specialty services for comprehensive patient care.
• Guide and support pet owners through stressful situations.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using EzyVet and Smart Flow.
• Participate in case discussions and continuing education opportunities.
• Contribute to hospital-wide training initiatives.
• Play an important role in the growth and advancement of the emergency department through protocol development and process improvements.

Requirements

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school.
• Licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in the State of New York.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous emergency medicine experience.
