About the Role

Optura is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own product outcomes end-to-end and help build the product function from the ground up. This role is for a customer-obsessed product leader with an eye for data-driven decision making, responsible for shaping the roadmap, translating ambiguity into clear specifications, and using customer insight and data to guide product development. While not required to write production code, technical acumen is necessary to collaborate effectively with the engineering team. This is a high-ownership role spanning the entire customer lifecycle with an opportunity to define the product function and personal impact at a fast-moving startup.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for your product area, defining priorities, writing specifications, and making decisions on scope and sequencing.
  • Ground the roadmap in data, advocating for priorities backed by metrics, customer insight, and strong judgment.
  • Translate customer business needs into clear product requirements for engineers and communicate engineering realities back to stakeholders.
  • Build trust and gain buy-in across a cross-functional team, including engineering, sales, and marketing.
  • Partner daily with the Romania-based engineering team on sprint planning, backlog grooming, and unblocking decisions across time zones.
  • Spearhead customer discovery through interviews and user observation to uncover needs and translate them into product development.
  • Triage and prioritize bugs versus features, balancing short-term customer needs with long-term product vision.
  • Partner with sales and customer success to maintain tight feedback loops.
  • Make sound decisions under ambiguity, prioritizing when everything feels urgent and requirements shift.
  • Define success metrics for all shipped products, instrument and report on outcomes, guide quarterly product roadmaps, and establish lightweight product workflows and processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience at a software or technology company.
  • 2+ years in a senior or lead product management capacity.
  • Experience defining, instrumenting, and reporting on product metrics.
  • Experience using data and analytics to prioritize and measure product outcomes.
  • Track record of partnering with engineering teams to ship products that reached customers and delivered measurable results.
  • Ability to translate feature requests and market signals into actual customer needs.
  • Experience in healthtech or another regulated industry.

Skills

  • Technical acumen to participate in architecture discussions and understand engineering trade-offs.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience with AI or machine learning products.
  • Experience working across time zones with distributed teams.
  • Experience as the product voice for a distributed engineering team.
  • Experience standing up a product function or serving as an early product hire at a startup.
  • Experience with business-to-business or enterprise software products.
